This is my first AR and my first AR build... so it's been a SLOW one. Specs: Patriot Defense Stripped Lower, A local Memphis business!! CMMG Lower Parts Kit El Cheapo Adjustable Buttstock and Pistol Grip Palmetto State Armory Assembled Upper (1.9 twist, pencil barrel, full float quad rail, flat top gas block) Magpul Flip Up Sights (back-up sights, will add red dot or something later) M16 Bolt Carrier Group Bravo Company Gunfighter Charging Handle Single Point Tactical Sling It's nothing real fancy but it's mine. Assembled without BCG and Charging Handle.. Those parts will be in this week.

ButtStock and Pistol Grip will be upgraded to something more ergonomic later.
The Bravo Company USA Gunfighter Charging handle is top notch... I spent a little more on this item because of the quality of it. There are other options out there but I have the "cheap" feel a lot of them. I hate the way a flexing charging handle feels.

Just to price it out to people, Once Completed (minus Red Dot), I'll have about $850 into this build. I could have gone a little cheaper in a couple areas but decided on some decent quality parts in key locations.

Nice build Ben, it's almost ready to make little shiney things come out of the barrel.

They are much more comfortable and when you transition from rifle to pistol all you have to do, when they are adjusted correctly, is let go of it and let the rifle drop. They're a little difficult to mount and adjust for the first time but I guarantee you will be much happier with a three point sling vs the straight strap of the single point. OBM will agree with this.

I'm gonna look into it.. have one I can fondle? lol AR is completely together and ready to fire. Gonna bug my landlord and see if I can go down in the woods and shoot like 10 rounds one day soon, if not.. I'll have to take it to Pontotoc I guess. Unless someone here has some land I can borrow for a bit. Pic... b/c we're all pic whores.

Official Price.. with 1 30 round PMAG and 50 rounds of .223 55grain
comes out to $872. Added up all the tickets just a minute ago. So as it sits ready to shoot (with no red dot) is less than a grand. I highly doubt you'll find one with Mil-Spec parts and full rail, etc for less than a grand. Even if you do, I have more love for my AR now that I built it.
Who wants to build the next one?!
