Axle wraps to large ratchet straps in an x. This is how we hauled tractors on 18 wheelers growing up. Wheel chocks are also good for getting your load correct every time so you don't have to much or to little tongue weight. Unfortunately you usually don't figure out whether it's right or not until you get above 40 mph which can be interesting. Just take a 6" 2x4 block and run 1 screw in each. (1 front/1 rear) That way you can remove quickly if needed. As far as body roll on the trailer you can always run another strap thru the front and/or rear recovery points and just cinch it down. I have also seen people run a strap from each rock slider to the side of the trailer. Might I suggest to NEVER use your winch as a tie down!

I used to own a wrecker service, I've always tied to the axles because when you go over bumps the suspension could compress more causing the tie downs to come loose. Even if they don't come loose they will place a large shock load on the chassis when they catch. I always used an X pattern at least on the rear tie downs, this way there was no way the vehicle could shift sideways. I never had any trouble using these techniques in over 10 years. I strap to the axles now too... seems better from the body jumps... I may try the crossing in the rear.. doesn;t sound like a bad idea!

Might I suggest to NEVER use your winch as a tie down! What about using it in addition to it being properly strapped down? I know that if Gabe had done this when he had a strap break his Jeep wouldn't have rolled back and nearly come off the trailer.

Would probably be ok as a fail safe but I wouldn't rely on it as a primary tie down.

I use axle axle wraps, then straps to those. I hook my winch to the front of the trailer to keep the front from bouncing all over the place. Without doing that, it is almost scary with the springs bouncing around. Winch to the front, and rides just fine.

If any one needs replacement straps for ratchet straps or custom web straps. Check these guys out. They make our replacement web straps cheaper then buying a new strap, and you can reuse the old hook or choose a different style.
