or we could do it simplier with no cage... just a flat topped tub with access inside lol
what if we mounted a generator in there? lol we can get crazy!

I think since the ghoulie stays broken so much, we could use it as a donor. It's already rolling we could flat tow it. We could do a firebox out back pipe stage smoke up under the hood. Then you could grill or smoke. Not funny.. I think we need to use your place for the build since you have all the tools and so much room.. We could use the rear area as a cooler for frosty drinks, make the grill under the good, and stash the propane bottles out back like Jerry cans. The front seat area could be tool boxes or if we went charcoal instead of propane it could be storage for charcoal and shovels ! I would be willing to host a build. Just gotta find the time once we get the material together

Ben I like your drawing.. Not bad!! Definitely something to look at since we won;t have most of the front end...
The problem with carrying tools and parts for the club is 1. Most people will bring their own anyway.. 2. It gets heavy quick!! Someone will have to haul this and not everyone has a 3/4 ton truck..
Stuff like a small welder would be fine cause that's not something that everyone brings anyway and it would get used..

Yeah and we know a 110 welder can help lol
Hey it's just a starting point to give some folks a visual of something. I like the idea of towing it straight! Right! Forwards!
And my thoughts on cooking from the back is access. You don't want to have to worry with stepping over or around the tongue just to cook.
And with no front clip, it won't look right being towed from the back of the tub

Yeah it's got that whole offroad Jeep trailer thing going plus you know it's still a Jeep thing.. and plenty of room for advertisements..

My take on it is a lot like Ben's. -I dont see the need in shortening it because the more room the better. Who knows what we may need to take to a run in the future!? -I like the idea of skinning the door areas, but I also think having doors would be good access to load and unload. -The grill could be built so that it would clamp along the bed rail on either side when in use. The rest of the time it would be stored in the trailer. Another thought would be to build the Grill into the cowl area. -Since the firewall is not smooth I think it should also be skinned and add logos of some kind. -Most importanly this desin is relatively cheap. There are a lot of great ideas so far, but how much are we realistically going to spend on this?? I really like the roll out canopy idea, but at the same time there are several people in the club with large free standing canopies that could be...wait for it....stored in the trailer on the way to an event.

Damn man! I said sketch it out on paper... not Michelangelo the damn thing!! I like the basic concept.. More of a trailer than the front design.. and the money thing is definitely a consideration! My only question about your design is how friggin long will that be?? We'll need to keep weight down so it can be towed easily...

I just went and measured and your design would be the equivalent to a 5'x8' trailer.. Also with the back design the wiring for the tail lights are already there and it won;t look funny being towed

if the fire wall will be smooth you can get the grill inserts and head light on vinyl with the logo

yep... I already measured a random TJ tub today to see if it'd work out lol main problem with this is the axles will be SO far back we got to keep tongue weight down.
My original design was a lot like that, simple... then I started playing with roll cage, awnings, etc... but yeah, simple is better.
I like the idea of the grill top being attached to the top of the tub and then stored in the tub or make a nice covered that latches to it. We want it covered when not used.

I like the drawing. Great job If we are using the entire tub why don't we just get a windshield frame, put a soft top and doors on it. It would be water tight ( as much as a TJ can be ) more storage space and easy access and light weight. I have one TJ half door I'd donate. I know the top needs the roll bar but just a piece of tubing standing up on both sides with a couple tabs is all that's necessary to attach the top frame. If we use half doors we could easily make some windows out of thin sheet metal to take place of clear cloth uppers and I have some sheet metal we can use
