Alright, so I've got the Sylvania Silverstar headlights currently. But, I kinda sort of have night blindness..so I want something brighter that's not gonna cost me like over $200. Help! What are the best, brightest headlights for a TJ that aren't gonna kill my bank account (must be DOT approved)?
I heard that you can like get an HiD kit that uses your current housings. But I think I've got sealed beams? Not sure how I'd do that...? Any suggestions??

Convert them to HID. Not DOT approved though. Super bright if you stick around 6000K.

Well I was going to. But I'd need a DOT approved kit because it's a DD.

IFP make housing for a TJ that makes it easier to upgrade to HID. IFP also some brighter bulbs that will work with stock plugs.

Yours are sealed beams so you will have to change housings for whatever you choose... The Silverstar are the best stock ones I've seen.. I've just put the HID's on mine but I wouldn;t run em on the street

HIDs on the street suck...at least for other people in front of you or driving towards you. I'd look at the IFP like Dabbs suggested.

I had two projector HID headlights on Russells TJ when it was my daily driver. If you keep them aimed down most police really will not say anything. I had to give up the hi beams though. The HID bulbs I had were only low beam. He runs silver star like you right now. Get a good set of driving lights to ogment your headlights. Run them allong with your headlights. The origional TJ fog/driving lights are great for road/street use.

Well I usually run my rigids(with amber covers on) along with my headlights. But I was looking for a brighter headlight so I don't drive around with rigids all the time. They're not as bright with the covers, but it keeps me from getting pulled over. Are there any housings that aren't like 50 each? lol. Like some cheap ones I can get at an auto part store. Cause then I could do that, and use this kit.

I know you have to have some thing like the ipf lenses to use the hid conversion kits. Not sure who else makes one.
