Looking for a good heart for Big Bird...
The following will work: 4.0L 01-04 Grand Cherokee 00-2004TJ
I'm going to start calling the local yards today, shouldn't be hard to find one. Finding one for a good price is a different story...
She's had the infamous diesel clatter every since I've had it... People actually are surprised when I tell them it's a 4.0L. I've ran her down to the coast and go everywhere with her and she runs strong. But I need to sell her and I don't want it on my conscience.

Check Memphis Craigslist. I saw one on there a couple days ago.

Call mr complete. Mine was $300 with a $50 core. I may have to do that, the last 3 salvage yards priced one $1,000 with core. It'd just be nice to get one closer just in case I have any problems with it...

If you go that route, you have to pay before they pull. You can do credit card by phone for it though.

I called Mr Complete, they wanted $900 plus exchange. I guess I must have an odd ball that makes it higher. They changed to ignition coils in 2000, not sure what all else changes....

Well, it's started... I maybe slow, but I do shitty work. Even managed to snap another bolt... FRAK!!!!
My first Jeep motor pull. I've done mustangs and camaros before so I'm not totally green. Like anything else the first one always takes longer. I went ahead and pulled the fenders and front grill, I wanted to see how it all was tied together...

What are you gonna do with the old motor?? The salvage yard wants a freak'n core... Am I the only one that thinks that's crazy? If you need one, I'll sell it to you for the core charge. Like I said earlier, it runs good, it just has that freak'n diesel clatter. Probably piston slap or something. I don't have time to tear it down and see what the problem is. I just want it swapped and done.
