Ok let's see I have a after market aluminum radiator but it is a single flow just like factory. I have a flowkooler water pump. A Factory thermostat all that was put on a 18 -24 months ago. I have a ford Taurus fan with DC controller. Fan works well water flows well cools very well on a hot day setting still. On trails doesn't get hot. 2000 or below rpms it runs below 210. But on highway over 2200 rpms 55-60 above it climbs climbs climbs up to 220-225. Slow down and it cools down. Right now I am flushing radiator and thinking about buying a 2or 3 row and I guess new fan because this one wont work with thicker radiator I won't have room. Any help would be great thanks.

Russells runs about 210 normally and 220 with the AC on. It has been loosing coolant, which is hopefully taken care of now.

you prolly dont wanna hear this.. but it sounds to me like something to do with a head gasket or something... if it only getting hot when your at speed then it sounds like you may be getting compression blowing into the water inlets...
dont know enough to say for sure tho... maybe check the radiator pressure while running and see if it goes up

Might be an air pocket in the system? Hell, it's hard to determine.

Mine does the same thing, New radiator and Taurus fan helped but didn't solve it completely.

I flushed it and put good coolant and additive in it. Heater core was full or junk witch is why the heater didn't work well this winter.

pressure test your system yet? a nonpressurized system will run hotter than a pressurized one...
I found out my radiator cap was bad... replaced it and now it runs cooler.

Hell I will buy a new cap. Come to think of it since I put this cool one on it I found off another car at a junk yard I have had this issue or close to that time. It couldn't hurt.

Combustion getting into the coolant will get them hot while driving, like Somebody said. Seems to be the going thing with MLS head gaskets. They have a combustion detector to hook up to the cooling system, but I've had bad luck getting the right results. Also, you don't always end up with water in the oil.

just something to think about.... at highway speed your fan isn't doing jack crap. The air blowing in from the highway is doing the work. I am with Cam and Charlie, I would investigate the head.
