I was backing up and all I heard was BAM... I knew exactly what it was.. I was just hoping it wasn't the inner... Got lucky! You would think with chromalloy shafts they wouldn't let go that easily!!

The harder a metal the easier it will "snap". A softer metal will twist before it breaks. Think of it like a knife blade, it won't bend much then snap. Cause its hardened. (Or a good one is) Drag racers used to take there axles and paint a line from spline to hub and after every race or two they pull the axles and check for twist caused by repeted launches.

Yeah but the hardened shafts should be about 10 times stronger than stock... I have stiwtes a stock rear axle before at the splines so I know what those look like.. I've also snapped a stock front 44 axle on 4 fingers and it never even tried to twist..

Hate I missed out on all the fun and the opportunity to help the club out! Looks like you guys/gals had a blast!! The kids and I had plan on coming but my little man made the all stars and they ended up having a tournament. Pretty much gonna be every weekend through the summer, so there goes all my time!

I only got a few pics - I was at the back parking tent for most of the day, so the action was on the other end of the property I got a decent farmers tan, then a good farmers sunburn Won a brand new Riddler armored differential cover for a Dana 44 (which I don't have and it looks like I won't be able to get any time real soon) Was glad to be able to help the club out. I'll pull the pics I got and see if any are worth uploading - Charlie got one similar to ones I was taking where I was aiming down the front of the B2B jeeps.
