So I was running to the store about a mile and a half away and the motor just dies. No hesitation or studder just completely shuts off. All electronics and lights are working fine. Will turn over but no fire. I'm assuming the coil pack. Any thoughts? Fuel pump is working. And I've had some hesitation the past week. Secondly, assuming that it is the coil pack, I've heard that the stock coil pack gets weaker as rpms increase. Is there a better performing coil pack that anyone is using?

Sounds like you on the right track... Teach had to replace one on a Jeep one time.. Maybe he can tell you if the lady had the same symptoms..

Wasnt there a particular range of years that went thru crankshaft sensors like a kid with candy? Could be something to check.

Wasnt there a particular range of years that went thru crankshaft sensors like a kid with candy? Could be something to check. After some help from JINX and a 4.0 guru it came down to the crank sensor. One bolt out slide the old one out slide the new one in less than 3 minutes of work. Cranked right up. Completely did away with all the hesitation that I talked about in the other thread.

Glad it worked out. If there not much may want to keep a spare they seem to go out regularly.

If you can find the updated version of these then get it... The old version has the little magnet glued into the case.. the new version has the plastic molded around the magnet so it can't come loose!

Don't know how you got yours out and replaced in 3 min! Took me a good 30 min to try and reach the bolts for mine. Finally ended up putting two 12" extensions and a swivel connector on a socket to reach it.
Glad you figured it out though.

Mine is a pain to get out. With the tummy tuck the bolt hits the body when trying to pull it out. Have to drop the skids to get to it.

Mine was plastic coated and it really only took about three minutes and and extra hand to get the wire back up. I just used a 3/8 ratchet and socket with no extensions.
