OK... so now I have a dilemma... Maybe you guys can help me out here.. I've been thinking about selling the Ghoulie, Big Sexy and the trailer and buying a new JK. For what I would get for all 3 I could save enough to afford a payment on a JK.. Here's the issue.. I am bored! Yep,.. I'm bored. Not with the offroading stuff but with how I'm offroading. The Jeep is in a transition phase where it's fun as hell on the harder trails, but no so fun looking at it in the garage on a bright sunny day. Either I need to build it more to make it more challenging or I need to buy a buggy to keep it interesting.. I don;t have that kind of money. Also I think a trip to Moab or an expo run with Melissa would be much better in a 4 door instead of the Ghoulie. I know it's my decision... just wanted to get some more feedback. Right now it's just a thought that's rolling around in my empty skull..

Wow. Ummm. Well, have you thought about finding another rig to do that stuff Iin? Like an LJ? Something not as expensive as a JK an that you wouldn't be too upset when it gets dented and scratched up. That way you'd kinda have the best of both worlds.

Thats the same spot I got to with my CJ. Too big to drive on the street and had to be trailered everywhere, but awesome on the trails. Thus the reason built the TJ the way I did, extremely capable off-road and yet still perfectly able to drive me to/from work and able to get out and enjoy with the top off on weekends if I want to.
Like you said, ultimatly it is your decision but I can promise you this: if you're anything like me, you will miss the Ghoulie and will have to have another "built" rig. The JK will fill the void of having something to drive on the streets and the expo type runs but you'll always want to run those 4's/5's.... Just my opinion and it won't make this decision any easier, I've been there I know.

I'll put it like this. Love my RZR and would not trade it for anything on the trails, BUT on sunny days like today, Thursday's at the cruise in, Go Topless days and stuff like that.....I really miss my CJ! Heck, for all your selling I bet you could get a nice used JK and a decent used RZR.

I didn't think you'd last long with a Jeep you couldn't enjoy any more... You could probably find someone willing to make you a nice deal on trade for them you need to call Bean he could maybe find what your looking for and is in the position to make deals like that..

You'll forever regret selling Ghoulie
If you decide to sell the trailer, let me know.
Why not just find an LJ? Or small TJ? I know another rig may not be in the pic... But you're gonna regret it if you sell ghoulie

I understand where you are coming from. This is what went around in my head before I made all the trades to get my yota. I am very happy with getting the yota. I miss the jeep like Chris said on days when it is nice and i want to ride around with the top down. I knew I could build another jeep like I had. May not build it as much next time but I want to someday have another one. With yours you have built to almost where you want it and with a little more work it will be there. I would look for and LJ or a really killer deal on a JK. If it were me I would keep Ghoulie because you know it like the back of your hand and know what it can and can't do.

I had the same choice to make, I decided to buy the JK, in my opinion it is a very reliable and capable rig and I only have to pay for and insure one vehicle. You have a tremendous amount of time and sweat and tears in Ghoulie, that's gonna be hard to let go of. But it sure is nice not having to work on mine very often. Just something to think about.

Thanks everyone.. the biggest thing is letting go of something I've worked so hard on for 5 years now.. I just don't use it like I use to.. Most of the time it sits or waiting on upgrades.. I guess the spring weather is getting to me!

Instead of buying a new Jeep and selling the Ghoulie...why not put a 60 under the front with the Yukon hubs instead of drive flanges. You get the strength you want, a rig you can drive on the road, and get to have a tow rig.

Why can't you put hubs on the Ghoulie and drive it now? Get another set of "street" tires and keep the "trail" tires for runs.
