So, I traded my ole B2 for this ole jon boat. Had no markings or anything on it. Finally got it registered tho as a 1970 Sears Jon boat. It was ugly and pretty beat up, but worst of all, it leaked.

I sanded down the bottom and cleaned it up. Had to replace some rusted bolts/screws that were in the bottom and transom with some stainless steel hardware and sealant.

The kid I got the boat from had someone try to weld some cracks..needless to say they weren't only ugly, but leaked. So I bought some marine 7200 Polyurethane sealant from wally world and went to town. Also bought some as seen on tv Flex Seal. We will see how well it works.

Was going to try using truck bedliner on the bottom and sides of the boat, but changed my mind. Went with regular Rustoleum Oil based paint. Did the sides and bottom. Went ahead and painted some of the interior also just because I had some paint left.

Bought a bolt together trailer from Northern Tool. Not sure how well it will work, but time will tell. Mocked it up on the jeep today. Need a drop hitch and 1 7/8" ball.

One of my new fishing buddies. The big pit wouldn't jump in it. Then again this dog can jump 6' high. :shrug:

Was going to try it on random stuff, but used it all on the boat. So I guess the boat will be the guinea pig.

That project is one of the many irons I have in the fire. Google and YouTube "jet Jon".

Maybe not, but your paying for it now it looks like. but keep up the work and you'll be fishing before you know it :thumbup1:

I have tons of work that needs to be done to my Pontoon boat but just can't seem to get it on my list of priorities. I need to take it almost completely apart and replace the carpet and do a lot of upholstery work.. etc.. and the oil leak in the waverunner :doh:

Few updates. Took it out last weekend and it floats. Had a few minor leaks, but after being on the lake all day, it wasn't enough water to worry about. Caught a few fish too.

Did some remodeling on the trailer. Mocking up new bunks

New seats came in. Had to mock them up. Got the bunks finished. Trailer is complete for now. Started on the wood flooring. Got the wiring ran and distribution blocks made and mounted.

Battery containment.

Bilge pump hose.

Some folks ready to go fishin'

I've remodeled a couple in my days...much more work than I thought they would be but its nice cause you can set it up however works for you.
