factory trailer hitch and real tow package are 2 different things. Real tow package has betters gears and Trans cooler. From what I've read on the 1500 models Chevy's tow package consisted of hitch and wiring. That might be different on the new models now but back in 2005 they got cheap where they could apparently. Not 100% on this but I am failry certain they have a heavy duty trailering package that includes the trans cooler, a locking rear diff and, lower axle gears. Every Chevy I have had since 1996 has had them. That is a total of 8 trucks ranging from 1500s to 2500HDs.

Still up in the air. Leaning towards the newer F250. Ive got awhile though. I'm going to save up some more cash and check out my options. Probably go to buy this winter. Until then I'm in a piece of shit Mazda b2300 and it's killing me

Did around 600 miles in Thor last Friday. Fan clutch steadily got worse and worse so when I got home I installed a new one. It's nice to have A/C while the truck is idle and for it to not over heat going down the road. Still haven't lost one bit of water and it's starting to run better every time I drive it. The Hot Shots is finally working.

If you worried about trans temp should bought a manual trans tow rig. I never worry about trans temp. No issue with tranny, it's got the factory external cooler and it holds a nice steady temp. The damn fan clutch was bad and the engine got real hot when I hauled both Jeeps back in March.

Nothing exciting...had to cut out a crap ton of welds, weld in filler pieces, smooth out and paint. Only visual difference is wing nuts on the fender mounts.

It will never "fit" but it will go on easier with the fenders both removable.
