Personally i laugh at it because I know people riding like that will become a statistic one day. Sad part is the automobile is always blamed for the idiots driving the bike. I see way too many dumbassas on bikes doing stupid shit to "look out for motorcycles "

I see way too many dumbassas on bikes doing stupid shit to "look out for motorcycles " I can agree with all of that. However, Just as fact, I don't do this on a regular basis. I did it once today in east memphis and two (out of six) cars seemed to of had issue with it. The two drivers on the line were completely fine with it and both gave the smile and wave. It wasn't a main road and traffic was minimal. I do also agree that by doing such behavior it does shit all over the whole "watch for cyclists" deal. I mean you can ask for respect and not give it, right... Edit I looked it up. Lane splitting is illegal in Tennessee. Not in Arkansas though!

Since we discussed helmets, I saw a couple on a cruiser a few days ago on 240 with no helmets. I thought TN Law required helmets.

As far as I know TN does require a helmet.

Yes helmets are required by law in Tennessee. There was talk about them being optional for certain ages but nothing has happened with that yet.
Also, in Tennessee if you get stuck at a red light on a bike you are allowed to proceed. Now if you get hit or cause a wreck it'll be your fault. But per Tn code 55-8-110 we are allowed to proceed on our bikes after making a complete stop at the light.

I'll make sure to let the officer talk to you

As long as you make a complete stop you're allowed to proceed, by Tennessee law. Im pretty well versed in state law

Just remember the number of the code to tell the officer, they have a book to look it up in their cars.

I don't know if I want to test this one out but then again... Maybe I'll go back to that same east memphis spot I got accosted on and test it out Seriously though, it's almost getting perfect riding weather. We need to round up a crew for a B2B ride and eat somewhere.

I have a group that I ride with regularly, next time we plan a trip I'll let you know. We have a good time. We're probably gonna hit bike night next Wednesday on the 31st. If you've never been you need to go it's an awesome sight.

I noticed 3 at Shelby Farms Sunday that just slid right through the 3 way stop.

And you saw nothing

Well thanks for the invite bob! I was out that way riding all alone! Seriously though, it's like everytime I go ride I see other bikers out, their just never on my side of the road. Then we're all rubber necking looking at each other
