If it has an auto trans start saving now for a rebuild. My brother had an 07 and we had the trans done 3 times in 150,000 miles. That auto just doesn't like to tow.
Nice rig.

Yes the new 6 speed autos are better than the old 4 and 5 speeds.

Nope.. Hooked up the fifth wheel the other day and towed it to the front so we could put some coating on the roof but that's it.. Pretty easy to hook up and pulls fine up to 10 mph.. Backing it into a spot is challenging I should have a real test in a couple weeks when we move to another park 7 miles away.. I know the damn rig is heavy.. around 15K pounds and you can feel it for sure. We have a trip planned.. A week in Yuma exploring the sites and a couple Mexican border towns.. That will be the real test. I did do some research and these engines don't like to be babied at all.. especially with the emissions crap still on.. Everyone says to run it like you stole it to keep the turbo and DPF clean of soot.. No problem.. Got the tag for it yesterday... In Texas where it was tagged was only $175... in AZ it was $404. Apparently they charge extra for hauling weight and diesel here.. Good thing is no inspection so I don't have to worry about removing the emissions stuff.. Still saving up for a programmer so I can get rid of the DPF and EGR.. But other things come first right now..

Yeah the day I hauled both rigs on that gooseneck with the 350 was really, really weird. But after a little bit of driving it wasn't so bad. Just like wheeling your rig gotta learn how to do it

Just remember to distribute the weight in that trailer so it not too heavy in the rear. Ive had mine wobble on me pulling it on the interstate a couple times without the sway bars on but it happened once with them on.

Yeah weight distribution is vital.. But I'm sure its worse on a pull behind than a fifth wheel.. Gonna get it weighed in a couple weeks..

So finally had a day off that I didn't have anything to do.. So decided to work on the massive eye sore on the truck..
Before..
After...
It'll work for now till I can get another tailgate.. The hitch is actually in great shape just surface rust. The tailgate on the other hand is toast.

Moved to another RV Park.. One good thing about being mobile.. if ya don't like where your at moving is easy! During the move we weighed the truck and trailer.. Truck is 8800 and the trailer is 14100. Which is far lower than the 15500 GVWR for the trailer.. I was a little worried about it since we have heavier items in there than what came with it... Pulling the trailer was not bad.. after the first 5 minutes that is.. The truck even in stock form pulled it with no problem.. smooth as silk at 75. We are planning a week trip to Yuma next month to explore the area and Mexico.. then to a beach rv spot at Rocky Point Mexico in the Sea of Cortez in September to swim with the fishies.. Life is good.

Got back from vacation and decided to beef up the rig a little... Took the awful crappy hubcaps off cause I hate them.. and found uglier steel wheels underneath.. So I just painted them black.. Found some really nice wheels online but that will have to wait.. But for now it's a 20 footer.. Also purchased this little gem.. Mini Max Race Tuner.. Apparently the tuner got in big trouble from the EPA regarding the delete tunes so now you can't hardly find any that have the deletes in them.. found this on Amazon already unlocked. 4 different tunes that can be changed on the fly up to 120 extra HP with DPF installed... 175 without. When I say it makes a huge difference OMG!! Left a nice set of dually marks on the street in front of the RV park.. Before I would barely get 17pg on the highway, yesterday I got 23 on the street tune... So now I just have to save up for the DPF delete pipes and EGR delete kit so I can get rid of them...
