Either fix the 44 or find a cheaper ball joint 60.. bumpstop the front coilovers would be nice but airshocks on yhe front will work too.. other than that just small beefing up

Yeah air bumps but they're pretty expensive But also worth it. I'd brace up the 44 and save up for an axle with kingpins instead of a ball joint 60. Makes the current setup stronger and in the end you'll get a nice axle out of it.

Isn't a 60 a lot heavier? If you're gonna build a woods racer you need to shed weight, that's what breaks parts. Well, weight and trees!

a Dana 60 is heavier than a Dana 44, but it is also world stronger in just about everyway. The amount of strength you gain as compared to the weight is more, I think.
If you're building an endurance racer, then I'd most definitely look at lighter more built axles. But keep in mind that he already has a 14 bolt rear too.
I don't think a 44 would handle the continued shock load very well... but I've been surprised that Charlie's 44 has actually lasted this long, so who knows.
Personally, I wouldn't have ever put ANY $$ into the 44 front, but like I said, so far I've been proven wrong in this regard... and it's held up till now. Charlie, I wouldn't waste anymore $$ in that 44 by fixing what's wrong with it and trussing it. Actually, I take that back... I'd fix it a sell it to someone who will use it in a crawler.
While a kingpin 60 is undoubtedly stronger than a balljoint 60 and also allows for a highsteer setup, I think Charlie would be fine with a balljoint 60. I've seen them take some MAJOR abuse from a few rok bouncer buggies and hold up just fine - Ethan Tanner and Wes Kean notably.
Keep in mind Charlie, that even a JY balljoint 60 will still take work - truss, tabs, gears ($200+), locker/spool- OR - new carrier with spider gears (if you're just going to weld the spider gears) since you'll have to jump to 5.38 gears (anywhere from $100 - $1000), install kit ($100+), chromoly drive flanges ($200+), 35 spline chromoly outer shafts (around $600/pair +/- a few dollars)...
Still not cheap.
You're best bet, is to find a built one and buy that. I know you know this and I've learned over my many builds that: buying is ALWAYS cheaper than building!

The real duke boys usually stuck the landing a little better. But damn you made for some great videos.
