Here's one that's a little different...not necessarily local but it's someone in the jeep community. There's a build I've been following on IG. It's a husband/wife team building this really sweet rig all in the name of bringing awareness to PTSD and our vets. This week, Kevin (the husband) passed away suddenly. His wife wants to keep the build going, but he was the breadwinner in their family, and they still had a pretty decent list to finish Maxx up. My idea is simple...monetary donations and we send her the funds with a letter and love from us.

I do have a question though. Is she going to give this built to a vet or auction it off with proceeds going to ptsd ? Or is this just a build that was for her and her late husband for personal use and show? That would make a differance in my feelings towards it.

It's their rig. They're plan for it was to take it to different events to help promote awareness. They have a fb page too, I just don't know the link. Maybe someone with fb can look it up (Kevin Martin)? Regardless of what she does with it, she's left with no income and two kids to raise now on her own plus continue this build that was so close to being finished.

There is a family at my church that we have been helping. They both don't have jobs and now no car. So I have a idea to buy them one. I have a friend that can get me a trade in at cost but still needing to raise about a grand to buy the car. Looking at something they can fit in but good on gas. Maybe corrila or civic. Once car is bought we thought to insure it for a month or two to help them get going and maybe some gas cards. I remember hard times as a kid not having anything and when you are down its hard to get back on your feet. This family is trying and have been coming to church for months and I just see them needing help and I want to help. A couple in my church picks them up and taxis them around to help them all the time. If y'all want to help raise money to help buy them a car or not it no big deal. I'm going to try my best to make it happen I know what's it's like to not have much and trying to make it and barely making ends meet. It sucks and but if we all pitched in it would change their life's in a big blessing way. This will give them away to get jobs and go to and from school, church and the store and such. Something we all take for granted. Love you guys. Just a option. Merry Christmas also.

Are you wanting to do something right away or are you wanting to throw this into the pot as your suggestion for the Winter Run? There's been a few really good possible charities put up already. You guys are making it hard for us to decide which one to help with!!

Please remember that proceeds from the run won't be available till after the run in Feb.. so if it's something that can't wait then prolly best to do it some other way..
