First question, does anyone on here have a tubing bender for making cages? Opinion I am looking at this www.4xinnovations.com/79-83-Pickup-Internal-Roll-Cage_p_7.htmlfor my truck. Would it be cheaper to just buy the pre bent kit and have it welded up (I dont trust my life to my welds yet) or build one from scratch? Greg G

If I had a bender and depending on the price of steel I probably would attempt it. As for the welding, If I can tack it together and then get it out of the truck I will take it to buddies shop (he welds for a living) and let him teach/coach/help me weld it up, just so I can say I did it myself.
My big thing is I'm not into reinventing the wheel. If the difference is just a few dollars between kit and custom I'll do kit everytime so I can have extra time for other stuff.
Two things that the kit doesnt have that I really want is a dash bar and another overhead bar. I plan on bending, or having the dash bar bent and then welding to the clamps to install. Another overhead bar spaced out a little so I could attach some sheet and put a stero, CB, and switches up there.
