So I need to fix the bracket on the axle. Previous history...I had reused my stock track bar for a period of time by doing the drill a new hole in the bracket trick and moving it over. I later upgraded to an adjustable track bar. With some help of Monele, he welded a plate on the front of the bracket and drilled a new hole to the right size of the larger bolt that the new track bar used. Well over time, the rear hole decided to change shape from a round hole to an oval. Any ideas on how to fix this? I can't weld a plate on the front side of those holes because the track bar would no longer fit in the bracket. Getting to the back of the bracket to weld isn't possible unless I cut it completely off the axle (which might be the only choice).

Maybe a good time to change to an ota trackbar? Places like Ballistic and Ruff Stuff sell some pretty beefy mount towers.

just push that axle forward, it will all line up:afro: If your looking for something quicker, I would just cut all that stock stuff off, grind it clean, and weld up some new tabs/mount or whatever out of 1/4". Just my You did buy a welder, might as well use it.

I'm with Jeff on this if you need an easy fix.
Is there enough room to plug weld a plate to the back?

Man that sucks, don't think there's an easy fix. The simplest thing is pretty much what Jeff said, cut her off, clean it up good and fab a new bracket. Kinda sucks when it's your main ride, ask me how I know. I just got some quarter inch plate to make a new upper track arm bracket. If you where in Tupelo, we'd knock it out one evening.

He's ordered a new bracket and we're going to cut the old one off and weld the new one on next week sometime. And it won't cost him $200.00 to do it either.

We all know it's the same as driving up to Canada! The $200 quote was from a Spyder... Ordered a new bracket from Q-tec made by Rubicon Express. 3/16" cold rolled steel. Stock crap will be cut off and this will be welded on. Got it for $43 with 2 day air from UPS.
