I ended up picking up a set of chevy 54" S10 leafs today. I know alot of people cut the eyes off of them and use them with their existing xj main spring. I've been real curious if you could just use the s10 packs, and how it would work. I haven't really been able to find much online about using the s10 main leaf. Pull a part didn't have any of the 52" C10 springs, so I pulled a set of leafs off of a 98 S10 blazer to play around with and to answer some curiosities. Stock XJ leafs are 51.5" total. Centering pin is at 23" back. The springs I picked up are 54", and centering pin is at 26", placing the axle 3" back over stock. I snapped a cpl of pictures of the difference. The way it sets, I just put in the complete s10 pack. my shackles have 2 different holes, so I moved the leafs down to the 2nd one from the top one to even out the lift with the front. If I stick with these, I'll trim out the wheel well some more for uptravel. I like how it looks, but we'll see how it flexes once I get the steering put back together. I'll also have to weld up a longer driveshaft. fyi, s10's have several configurations, these are the 3 + 1/2 leaf packs. XJ lifted leaf springs: S10 stock leafs: I'm also moved back an inch on the axle mount in both pictures, so the s10 packs are 4" stretch over stock.

So far I'm real happy. In fact, was planning to 4 link the rear, but after seeing how well these flex out, I'm sticking with these. They seem to do just what I need them to do.
